Raised in Springfield, VA, Brian's love for woodworking has been cultivated by many skilled woodworkers and artisans, supportive family and friends, and his passion for finding out how things are built. Brian received his BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1996. His experiences while traveling with his family and friends across the United States and to other countries strongly influence his artwork today.
Brian's career in fine woodworking began in the mid-nineties and encompasses a diverse range of skills. He is a unique artist because of his mastery of different forms of woodworking such as turning, carving, and furniture making. Brian also has training in jewelry design, metalsmithing, casting and welding, which allows him to create a variety of accents for custom pieces.
To continually work to advance my technique and vision while crafting each piece to the best of my ability.
Brian is a full time woodworker in the Richmond, VA area. He also teaches several classes a month at the local Woodcraft store in a variety of subjects. His studio is located near his home.
